TESTIMONIALS from users of "The Smartest Dart"
Joe, First off, let me compliment you on undoubtedly the best dart EVER designed and produced. I have been a competitive dart player for the past 10 years and am always looking for some kind of edge with my equipment. While searching for new darts, after throwing a number of years with a set of 16 gram Black Widows, I had stumbled across a review for DartSmarts Generation 2 darts on www.crowsdarts.com. Upon seeing the 30 day guarantee and doing a little more research, I had figured why not take the plunge and try them out. I had wanted to up my darts to an 18 gram model and had figured that there would be an adjustment period to get used to the heavier dart. Much to my surprise, the first three darts that I threw felt better and more fluid than the previous 10,000 throws with my old darts. Well I must say that I was absolutely impressed with the overall balance and feel of these darts. When I had gotten the e-mail about the Gen 3 product I just had to have them. Even though I thought many times to myself "how can they possibly make these better", I decided that me and my whole team need to use these darts. Low and behold, we absolutely dismantled every team that we met the past couple of seasons and personally, I led the league with a 3.75 average over a period of 120 matches. At the 2006 Illinois State Dart Tournament, my brother won the open 501 singles (also using the Gen 2 darts) and I placed fourth. This year was no different, our team (all using Gen 3 / 18 gram darts) won the 4 man team competition blowing thru the field, only losing 1 game out of 12 matches (best of 3). As if it wasn't enough, I just completed the 2007 Bullshooter where I placed 5th in the doubles cricket event turning pro. Thanks a lot Joe for your hard work and dedication, keep up the good work and let me know when Gen 4 product is ready. Sincerely,
Adam Koleno
Winners!
Joe, I had to write and tell you how great your product has worked for me. I am 24 years old (very young from what I see at the tournaments) and I have been around darts since I was about 14. I threw a bit then but between high school and a band I played in at the time; I had no time to go to tourneys or practice. I graduated and went to college where I still did not have a lot of time to throw. I was pulled out of my darting hole in Dec. of 2003 when one of my dad's old friends called me up to play the Bloodshot Open in Columbus with him. I said I would but that I hadn't played in a long while. I decided to pick up a good set of darts having previously played with bar darts and ones that could be purchased at any local Wal-Mart. I ended up buying your darts. I liked the philosophy (my major at OU) that the darts were made with. Though I didn't win anything at the Bloodshot that year, I knew these darts could help me win. I could just feel it. In August of 2004 I went to the Music City Open in Nashville, just 8 months later, and won the mixed trips event. I went on to finish in the Top 8 and Top 16 in men's cricket and 501 respectively. Since that time I have won:
I have had countless Top 4 through Top 16's (singles and team events) in the biggest tournaments in and around Ohio (within 8 hours away usually). Most recently a top 4 finish in Cricket at the USA Dart Classic where I beat the reigning National Champion Tim Grossman and a Top 16 finish in 501. I have won large blind draws at The Buckeye Open, The Choo Choo Classic and the Dublin Irish festival. I am currently ranked 12th in the country according to adodarts.com (8/15/06). Thanks again so much for putting forth such a great effort to make such a quality product. Gordon Dixon "Why I Enthusiastically Use my Dartsmarts Darts" First, you have to understand that I hate movable point darts with a passion. I hate not just movable points, but also any king of spinning shaft and anything on a dart that rattles or feels loose. I find it distracting and time has proven them not to be very effective in fulfilling their gaudy promises of less bounce outs and tighter groupings of darts. Another thing I do not do is change darts often. The set of darts I was throwing with when I ran into David Boddie I had been throwing with contentedly for about four years. David had been bragging about this new "super" dart he had ordered for a couple of weeks and I have to admit I was dubious about the claims he was making about these darts. That is until the first time I picked them up. Normally for me, there is an adjustment period when I try a new set of darts. Depending on the quality and knurling of the dart, it can be as short as 1 night or as long as never, ever will I touch that dart again. But I always seem to want to "dance with the girl that brought me". I always seem happier with my original darts. But this time the feel was incredible the first time I held these darts in my hand. I immediately was able to throw them as if I had been throwing them all my life. I was amazed when David told me they were movable point darts, because there was none of the usual rattle or looseness that I had always associated with movable point darts. I have discovered playing with these unique darts that I suffer less from bounce outs because of the spring loaded movable points. I have also benefited greatly from the way the spring-loaded points release once they are in the dartboard to allow the dart to rotate out of the way of another incoming dart to give me greater access to the prime scoring areas I need to have to continue winning on the tournament trail. I am getting to the point with these darts that I hope no one else finds out about them because it almost seems as if I have an unfair advantage. If there is anyway I can help you publicize these amazing darts feel free to contact me. Since the night that I acquired these darts I have:
Sincerely, Dale McInnis Vice-President Shreveport Bossier Dart AssociationJoe, I said I'd send a testimonial, so here it is. The 3rd round of these darts I threw, I hit a 140. Although that may seem trivial to most, playing steels is just a passing fancy for me. I normally use my steels to warm up for the soft tip leagues that I play. However, steels are addictive, and I find myself playing more than soft tips anymore. Problem is, in Michigan, there are few steel leagues. But these darts are incredible. I managed to kick my bud's butt after a few pops - he normally has my number at that point. So I ordered a set to use in the soft tip league, and am equally pleased with those. My brother came over the other day, picked up the 22's, threw 3 at the Eclipse, and said, "These are the most balanced darts I've ever thrown." I told him I'd swear by these, and he continued to put up 100+ rounds regularly. Needless to say, I am a nobody, but by all means, give these darts a look. Joe will give your money back if you don't like them, but my Hammerheads were right around the same price, and I'd take these in a heartbeat. Thanks Joe Chris Dear Joe, Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how thrilled I am with your new Gen 3's.I normally carry several different sets of darts with me to a match, because I was not always comfortable with the feel of any one set. Since receiving my set of Gen 3's a few months ago, I haven't even taken my other darts out of the case. Since changing to your 22gm Gen 3 I have noticed a definite improvement in my consistency and win percentages, I even shot my first T80 with them. I am so impressed with the grip on these darts and the fluidness of the release while using them, that I can't see myself using any other dart ever again, at any cost! Thanks for making such a great dart. Sincerely, Dave Wetzel p.s. The ridges on the points really grip the board!! After receiving my set of GEN-3's, I threw a few practice rounds and called up a buddy of mine for a game. I had not thrown all summer and on our second game of cricket, I threw better than I had all last season. My buddy was throwing real well and I was beating him so bad, that he started using my GEN-3's. We then had some real close matches, and he will be purchasing a set. I love the grips. The darts are perfectly balanced and throw very flat tight groupings. I notice that I have much less wobble in my throw, and my game is only going to get better. Thanks for the GEN-3's. They have helped me get to the next level of throwing. Rob. Keep up the good work by the way; this is easily the best dart out there. I used to throw with Black Widows and they are not in the same category plus they are way too expensive. Thanks and Regards, Felim Hello May name is James Major and I ordered a set of darts from you. I have thrown your darts for two weeks and I would like to say that during that time I have hit a ton 21, a salute and a rocket during the past two games. I even got an invite to play in the Mass Minuteman League! I have told all my friends where I got the darts and have told them to go to your site to order your darts. I will be ordering a set for my wife and I myself will be getting a membership on your site. You will have a customer for life with me. Sincerely, James Major Devoted Dart Player
I just wanted to drop you a line, about how much I like your darts. I bought a set of your 24 gr. GENERATION 2 darts, about 2 weeks ago, practiced with them for 1 week, and took first place at a local bar here in Lafayette Louisiana the other day. I noticed that they felt lighter than my other darts of the same weight. It must be the rings on the barrel, so I ordered a set of your 27 gr. barrels and they got here yesterday. I changed my darts over to the new barrels and started to throw the heaver darts. In the first 30 minutes, I hit more 20's than normal and 3 Ton 20's. I have 10 sets of darts and the Smartest Darts have quickly become my favorite darts. I tell my friends that they actually are Smart darts. They just laugh and think it's funny. I'm laughing too when I go pick up my first place money. Nice Darts Joe. Dear Joe, Thank you for the best darts on the market. I have wasted so much money on Skinnys, Gorilla Grips, Black Widows, and god knows what other darts, because the grip always fades away. I was one of the first to purchase your 16 gram soft tip darts and I have been playing with them almost every day since. The fact that they release the same way from my finger tips each and every time is remarkable, but, it is the barrel that has me speechless. The barrel grip is still the same as when I bought them over a year ago. Thank you, Frank Estrada San Antonio, Texas Joe, Last February my brother asked me to join a dart team so there'd be a complete team. I hadn't been in a league since 1975. I threw wooden darts and we played baseball. I did pretty well, but I left the upstate NY area and kind of forgot about darts. Well I didn't own a set of darts, so I shared with my brother. I found out soon enough that that was not going to last, so I bought my first set from a sporting goods store. Throwing bricks would have been easier. I started asking where people bought darts. I found a couple of dart stores with Harrow's ,Hammerheads,VOKS and others. During the spring I purchased 4 sets of darts. None felt right. So I started my online search and found CrowDarts and the product evaluations. To make a long story short, I received my first set of 24g Smart Darts in the summer. Loved the feel right away. I practiced through the summer and got some yips out of my throw. The information in the 2 online books was very instrumental in troubleshooting that process. We just completed the fall season and our team won an "E" championship. Not a Phil Taylor type league, but it's a place to start. During my first season in the spring I won maybe 50% of my matches and scored a couple of tons. This fall I was number 1 in points, tons and rounds. I even hit 2 R09's, on 3 different numbers, in my first Luck of the Draw. I suffered through the ringer comments knowing that I not only practiced a couple hours a day, I also had great set of darts. I just got my 20g Smart Darts a couple of weeks ago I think I've found the perfect dart. It's almost Zen darting. Thank you for providing me a great tool for my hobby. Kevin New Hampshire Joe, I have been playing darts for a short number of years, 8 to be exact. I play in 5 different dart leagues as well as many local and high ranking tournaments. I have gone through 15 different sets of darts at considerable cost. As someone that is not always happy with my game and always looking for ways to improve my game, a fellow team mate came across your darts on the web, and graciously allowed me to try them. They met all the criteria I was looking for in a dart and were very reasonably priced. When they arrived in Canada I had to have them right away and not wait for the next dart night to get them. I wanted to familiarize myself with my new darts as soon as possible. The grip of the dart has totally improved my game not to mention the balance. As most Dart players know the game is partially mental to go along with skill, but how can you have confidence without being confident in the product. After only practicing with my "Smartest Darts" a short time, I made the decision to switch my current darts to the Smartest Darts. The first night was like the honeymoon period. They were going right where I wanted them to. The very next night I used them the same things where happening. The dart was flying true and my average was on the rise. As we are getting just past mid season here, it is rather hard to move your average up any great amount, but in the last 3 weeks I have moved my points per dart average up almost 2 full points and my double out percentage has improved considerably. This could not have happened at a better time. We have our Royal Canadian Legion Darts Championships starting in less than a month, and with these darts I know I am bringing my "A" game to the board. These darts have perfect balance and the grip has given me the confidence to throw places where I would be a little leery of with other darts. People here are already noticing a change in my dart game and more and more people are buying them to improve their darts. I am not sure if that is good or bad for me.....lol. Try these darts. They Work. Mark Desrosiers North Bay, Ontario, Canada Dear Sirs: The skeptic that I am, I thought these darts might be a bunch of hype. I saw the 30 day money back guarantee and figured, why not try them out and if I don't like them I'll send them back with no questions asked. After about 20 minutes of playing with these darts, I was already hitting bulls consistently more than what I did with all previous darts I have owned. Since taking these darts to my league competition, I have let 4 other people throw with them. 3 out of 4 of those people are ordering their sets immediately. I recommend these darts over any and all other darts that you can buy. Give them a try; you have nothing to lose except your previous darts that you have wasted money on. I can't thank Dartsmarts enough for posting truthful information about the absolute best darts on the market, guaranteed!!! Any questions about these darts, feel free to email me and Ill be glad to answer any questions you have. 18 gram Soft Tip Darts Jason Rolla Franklin County Dart League in Illinois Joe, I have two sets of the Smartest Darts and I just ordered your Soft-Tips. I usually throw soft-tips and I have Gold Widows, Gorilla Grips, and several other "good" darts. I've been throwing for almost three years and am by no means a champion. Recently, I threw a 4.8, my best game in competition, using your Generation 2. I've purchased many darts in my young career, searching for the best in equipment; yours are at the top of the list. You don't need to be a champion to know quality darts when you see them. I think my owning three sets of Smart Darts are proof enough of how good your product is. Your darts make me a better shooter. Thanks a lot - Jack Franklin, El Paso, TX Dear Joe, I did just receive the Gen 2 in 25 gram. I have to tell you, I wasn't expecting anything much. I own a set of Black Widows, Voks ELC, 2 sets of Hammerheads (Mega Thrust and GT-3), Harrows Power Points, and a few others. So I wasn't expecting your darts to be as good as they are. The grip is the first thing I have noticed. It is perfect non slip and easy to release. The darts fly straight, no wobble at all. The throw like butter, hit the board deceptively hard and stay there. As I throw with them more I'll give you updates, but for now let me just say: real nice job on an awesome set of darts. JJ Joe, I have been in a "Slump" for about 1 year now and have made no real gains in coming out of it. I have spent time and money trying new flights, darts, shafts etc. with no luck. I found your website months ago and figured I would try out this new "SmartDart" that I had been reading up on for awhile. I said to myself, what could it hurt? Maybe this company is for real and hey, my darts can't get any worse. Well I must say that it was the best investment I have made in my 4 years of playing darts. I received my darts one day before hurricane Isabel made landfall here in my hometown. I have now been throwing with your darts since then and have made a substantial gain in darts per throw average. I had been using a smoother barrel with longer shafts and have found your darts to fit my hand better and these darts go straight in the board, no more blocking of a target with the first dart. They feel very comfortable in grip and release. My practice sessions of 1 through bull on doubles and triples have decreased 30 to 50 darts thrown on average, WOW!! These darts are certainly bringing my confidence and my enjoyment back to the game itself. These darts just feel good in your hand like they were made just for you. I would like to thank you for providing a set of darts and useful knowledge to me and all the other "SmartDart" owners. I will certainly send you another letter at the end of my next season of league to let you know of my progress. I will also pass the word around about these impressive darts and about your informative website. I hope to one day get out of this slump and feel these darts will certainly aid me in that direction. I would also like to point out that your email responses were quick and you are certainly on the ball. I would like to commend you on that, that type of customer service is almost non-existent today. Tim Taylor Virginia Beach Dear Joe, I received my dart order on Friday May 29, 2003 just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. I was very excited to actually throw my new pair of darts for the first time. I played all weekend and had a good chance to get an overall feel for the darts. There are several things that make them superior to any commercially available dart I have thrown yet. The grip is excellent! I currently own darts that have traditional pyramid knurling (both normal and heavy knurled) and darts with cut grooves. I also own a set that is smooth all down the barrel. What I like about the smartest dart is that the cut grooves you use are very tight together. This provides an excellent grip but even more important, it allows the dart to be released very easily. I honestly didn't think the grip on the barrel would impress me as much as it did, but it is hands down the best releasing dart I have ever thrown. The next thing that really impressed me was the overall balance of the dart. It is a center-balanced dart, which I much prefer over a front loaded or front heavy dart. The flight path is very straight with minimal arcing. This allows the dart to be placed on the board very accurately. The barrel is also thin at ¼ inch and 2 inches in overall length. The barrels can be placed together in a group very tightly on the board. The flights are also another very impressive feature. I have thrown all of the shapes currently available on the market, and again this is the best-shaped flight I have ever used. I have read your website on this topic, but didn't really realize the importance until I used this dart. Your flight shape and design DRASTICALLY reduces drag. On all my other darts I use either standard flights, fantails, or coal cracker shapes. Your flight not only reduces drag, but keeps the dart well stabilized during the flight. This again adds to the overall well balanced feel and flight when it is thrown. After I shot with the smart darts for about 1 hour, I went back to my old pair of darts I had been using. My old darts have the standard shape flight, and I instantly saw how much drag I have been putting up with for years. The feel of the smartest dart with regards to drag alone make me not want to shoot my old pair ever again. I agree with the choice for length and material of the shafts. I have always preferred the feel of nylon shafts instead of aluminum. Some aluminum shafts allow the dart to be heavy in the rear, especially when they add the spinning mechanisms. Since you do not use spinning shafts, there is nothing to rattle and bother you while throwing. They shafts are not too long so the darts do not waggle on the way to the dartboard. Finally I would like to talk about the points. The grooves on the front of the point do help the dart stay secured in the board. The chrome covering on most fixed-point darts may look good but always causes the darts to fall out on worn boards. The black-coated points are better at holding the darts in the board, but the grooves on your dart make it the best point I have used. Many people use sandpaper on the sides of their points to get a rough edge to keep them stuck in worn boards, but with your points it's already taken care of. I also like the fact that the point rolls around about 1-2 degrees to allow it to deflect and slide off a wire. This is a critical feature. I have owned all the major moving point mechanisms in the past and they all lock the points in the center of the collet. The spring you use has a good bit of tension on it but not too much. This prevents the points from rattling while you are throwing. This dart actually feels like you are throwing a fixed-point dart but still gives you the needed benefit of moving point technology. My hat is off to you Joe. You have obviously spent much time reviewing the many dart designs available. I have not been able to find a single thing I didn't like about this dart. Thanks again for the excellent design and performance of this dart. Thanks Again Gregg Smith Hanover PA Hi, I just wanted to let you know what I thought about my new Smartest Darts after receiving them. The darts felt different than any darts I've ever felt. They felt like they have a great grip, but at the same time not to much of a grip. I was worried that the darts girth might be too big from the pictures I've seen. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the size is comparable to the darts I previously was throwing. I haven't used them long. But I notice right away that my groupings are already tighter. Joe, I really think you're on to something with these darts. I just can't wait to play darts now. It's like the Smartest Darts have given me the desire back to throw darts again. I am one of those people that have tried 15 or 20 sets of darts trying to find the ultimate set. I haven't thrown away my others yet, but my goal is to use just one set for all games. I think with a little practice with my Smartest Darts will be those darts. I would also like to comment on the Arm Master training device. To be honest, I was a little skeptical about this devise. But after using it the first time, I could feel the muscles being worked. It feels like it targets just the muscles you use to throw a dart. I think it will help. Thanks, and keep up the good work. Monte Siebrecht "How I lost my Dartsmarts.com Darts" It was with great anticipation that I opened my package containing my new set of DartSmarts.coms "The Smartest Darts." I had read the review on Crows website and had also read the articles available to non-members on your web-site. Being the proud owner of over 15 sets of darts, ranging in cost from Great Whites to movable point Black Widows, non-of which I was very satisfied with my results when throwing them, I could not wait to see if the claims made by you and agreed with by the Crow were accurate. There was a time many years ago, before a marriage and raising two kids caused me to give up the game for fifteen years, when I could give a good accounting of myself in both league play and in tournaments. However, since I returned to the game two years ago, there has been a noticeable slip in my abilities to produce under pressure which had created a vicious cycle of lower confidence, lower production, less challenging shots attempted, less success in winning my matches. I was pleasantly surprised that with a couple of hours practice over two days, I was gaining confidence in my ability to try the more challenging shot with a belief that I could hit it. Now I was ready to try my newly won confidence in our highly competitive A league match. I am fortunate enough to play on a great team, the El Dartos, which has won five of our last 6 city championships. Unfortunately, I had told my teammates about this new set of "wonder" darts that I had recently acquired. When I showed up early that night to warm-up for the match I ran into one of my teammates, Dale McInnis. Dale is currently leading our region 3-4 in ADO points and is listed at number twenty-six in the country in ADO points. Dale and his brother Kevin form the anchors of our team. They have been among the very best players in our area for many years and both of them abhor any type of movable point darts. They also have been throwing their sets of darts for quite a while; unlike me they do not change their darts frequently as they are very comfortable with their present sets of darts. Dale asked me to let him try my new darts to see how they felt. Knowing his prejudice against movable point darts, I was extremely surprised when after three passes; he said he really liked them. In fact, he said he liked them so much that I ought to give them to him if he hit a triple twenty with his next three darts. Now me, being the rocket scientist that I am, told him he could have them if he hit a ton-eighty with his next three darts. He had only thrown these darts three passes, nine darts, so I felt real confident about this situation. That is until he placed the first dart in the lower left corner of the triple twenty. I thought to myself, that's alright he still has to hit two more and with all these people watching it might be a little more difficult to accomplish this, so I was still pretty confident until he placed the next dart right on top of the other dart in the triple twenty. He nearly had the entire triple twenty left for his third dart and I knew at this time that I no longer had my brand new set of DartSmarts darts. Sure enough Dale dead centered the third dart in the exact middle of the triple twenty and I said adios amigos to my new set of darts. Since the night Dale won those darts he has:
Dale also loans them to his brother Kevin who since using them has:
They are both extremely happy with their set of what used to be my darts, and I cannot wait until I can get another set of them for my own use. If you have any questions or need more clarification, Please feel free to contact me Sincerely, David Boddie League Director Shreveport Bossier Dart Association Co-Tournament Director 26th Annual Louisiana Classic Before your darts, I was throwing around 3.2 to 3.6. Now, I am throwing, on the average for cricket, between 3.7 and 4.2. Before your darts, I usually only got 1 bull out of three, consistently, with a hat trick 1 out of 15. Now I'm averaging 2 out of 3 bulls, consistently, with a hat trick 1 out of 8. Quite an improvement, I must say! As for the barrel, what a great piece of hardware! This was exactly the type of surface on a dart that I had been looking for, for years. Tacky, yet smooth. Evenly balanced. Perfect length. Perfect thickness. Awesome release!!!!! You were right about how the darts roll off your finger naturally. Anyway, I am very satisfied with the barrel. You can see a lot of time and energy went into its thought and design. The barrels are by far, the most important feature and you have that in spades! I am recommending your darts to all my friends and feel free to use me as a reference on your website. Thanks for everything and keep on darting! Peace Art Wainwright Tampa Bay, Florida Dear Joe, I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how happy I am with my new darts!!!! I met with you up in Connecticut at the Maccamoodus Tournament. I threw the darts in between games and really liked the feel of the barrel, though they were thinner than my own darts. Prior to purchasing your darts I liked a heavy knurl and got my darts re-knurled at least twice a year and even then I used rosin to maintain my grip. I could definitely see the difference with my new darts, my thumb pivots more easily, I don't need rosin, the dart seems to roll smoothly out of my hand and it takes less darts thrown to warm up. I was always a 19 shooter and had trouble hitting the top of the board; I now have more control and have no problems hitting 20's or 18's like in the past. I was also having frequent problems with maintaining my grip and did all kinds of practice techniques to help with it. I spent so much effort and concentration on my grip that I my game definitely suffered and my confidence was in the basement. I've been throwing my new darts for a month and haven't given a thought to my grip at all. I have always shot with moveable points and for the last several years, they have been spring-loaded. Your points are wonderful; bounce outs are nonexistent (except when hitting a dart or wire junction). I don't want to keep going on but just wanted to let you know I am very happy and glad I made the investment. Two teammates have thrown my darts and ordered themselves a set. Customer service is in a class of its own, it seems that any potential problems are resolved by you before us darters are even aware. It is rare to see such a commitment to product and customer satisfaction in this day and age, I commend you. Like I said Joe, I am extremely happy with my new darts and want to thank you for introducing me to them. I recently purchased 2 of your training devices, and will let you know how that goes! Heather Farrell NJ 2001 ADA National Triples Champion Hi Joe I found the website of DartSmarts very helpful and a useful guide to new and experienced dart players alike. The article regarding the grip of the dart made me think very positively about my own game. My Smartest Darts arrived without delay after excellent Email correspondence and in fact I used them tonight for a league game. After 2 years of struggling with different darts and the problems this causes in uncertainty and lack of confidence I played the best darts I have played since 1999 winning my game. I do of course understand that the darts thrown are only as good as the player but they went smoothly and no bounce outs, a problem I have suffered with previous darts. The darts have a superb grip and are extremely well balanced. I do also recommend that the darts are used with the shafts and flights supplied by DartSmarts. The darts are more accurate. I believe with practice and using my SmartDarts I am confident that I will enjoy my darts for many years to come. They are now part and parcel of my inside pocket! Thanks Joe - I will let you know when I start winning competitions again! Keith Howells Brighton United Kingdom 6th November 2002   |
